Another awesome game by the B’s. No matter the flurry of offense the Habs threw at them nothing seemed to rattle the B’s too much tonight.
Bitz was exactly what the B’s needed him to be. No one could tell that this was his first post season game.
While on the topic of post season firsts… congrats Thorty! Shawn Thornton got his first post season goal of his career tonight (with a helper to Bitzy!). It’s a bit comical that Bergergon gets into his first career fight in the same series that Thornton gets his first career post season goal.
And of course, it almost goes without saying, but there were numerous HUGE saves by Thomas throughout the game to keep the Habs and their fans out of it.
To keep with the Mortal Kombat theme…. “Finish him!”

The B's are a win away from the next round

Chara takes the cup
If you buy into the whole computer simulations being able to predict sports outcomes and you are a Bruins fan then you will love the fact that EA Sports NHL 09 is predicting the B’s will beat Chicago to win the cup. Here is what the predicted outcome will look like.

just home from the game, (will post pics later).. After a pretty slow start IMHO the Bruins had an energized third period and played well. The star of the game was definately Thomas with a solid game and the fact that he went after the punk Avery. I really hope the NHL looks at Averys stupid attempt at starting something and suspends him from play or fines his sorry ass. That was low and completely a hack move. I really wish Thornton was on the ice for that, I bet there would have been a different outcome.

Another goal for Luch. Will he get to 20?
This last one was a hard slapshot that simply beat Auld in the second period.
It seems whatever was bothering #17 for a while is a non issue now just in time for the playoffs.

Even though Luch got bloodied, he landed some big blows on Oreskovic. No take down, but #17 gets it on points.
We need a goal for a Gordie.

Hunwick on D and Montador as a wing?? Why not the other way around? And where the heck has Hnidy been, why doesn’t he get a nod every now and then?
On another note, AWESOME backhand goal by Ryder in the first tonight.
Point to Luch tonight in the early goings as well…
Update halfway through the second: another point for Luch who assisted on Krejci’s pretty goal.

Lucic lights the lamp for the 14th time this season last night at the Garden.
It was nice to see all the B’s finally firing on all cylinders. Last night was their first full, complete, well played game in a while – a couple months maybe.
Luch had some hits and a goal. It seemed he may have had a fight too if the refs hadn’t been so quick to get in between a couple potential fights (although, Stuart clearly wanted to fight the most out of all the B’s – he hit everyone he could reach!)
This is the Lucic (and Bruins) we need to see in order to have a deep playoff run…

Sorry guys. We got some catching up to do. Over the next couple days we’re gonna cover some Providence Bruins, Lucic in action recently, and some Hockey East action.
The updating will start today!
