Awesome game tonight to be at. It was nice to see a kid like Rask shine as bright as he did. That seems to be the theme this year with Wheeler, Hunwick and now Rask. Both teams had chances to score more… but Rask and Lundquvist seemed on top of their games. It would have been nice to see more checking by the B’s, but a win is a win.
It was also wicked awesome to see Renee sing the nation anthem. I hadn’t seem him sing it live since last playoffs.
Oh, and seeing her wasn’t bad either:

Why is she not wearing a Bruins leotard?

I still don’t like him. Good for Bitz for standing up and going at it. The fight started out slow, and Brashear got what looked like a few good shots in at the end.
Bitz is fighting, Thornton is scoring. Who’d have thunk it?

Ok, I’ll give the victory to Mark Stuart on effort and number of punches thrown. However Chipchura should reconsider fighting anyone above the age of I don’t know 6 years old. Kyle looked silly and if you wear a shield and want to go…take it off. You can see the fight here

Lucic had a busy day today. 4:57 left in the first and a huge hit on Colliton then 2:55 left in the first and he bangs up Jackman in the corner. There was a bit of disagreement between Brick and Mike Milbury as far as the legality of the last one. Jackman was down on the ice for a moment.
Later on in the third, he tussles with Witt. Luch got a couple good shots in, including one to the jaw. No question who won that one. This seemed to set a theme for the next few moments as Hnidy locked up with Jackman. Hnidy left with a cut under his eye, but it was definitely a good bout.
Not only did he get the physical play going, Luch had an assist on Kessel’s goal in the third as well.
All of that was capped by 5 B’s goals in the third to put away NY 7-2.
Next up: DET. There may be two Lucic Crew guys there…

Following Lucic’s pounding of former Bruin Nick Boynton, the crowd went absolutely nuts. We made noise for each goal, but the fight took the volume up a notch.
Here’s Lucic Crew exclusive pics and video of the fight 11/21/08 and the crowd reaction. Fan Reaction

Boston punk band Street Dogs played a small acoustic show at the Newbury Comics on the AutoMile. this past September. The frontman for the band is Mike McCoglan formerly of the Dropkick Murphys.
I wanted to wear my #17 t shirt to the show, so I dragged it out of the hamper. As I am waiting for the show to start, I feel someone tap me on the shoulder and say “Nice shirt, he’s the best player on the team.” Wanting to agree, I turn around and I see Mike walking past me to the stage! Knowing the band would be signing autographs after the show, I immediately thought to have Mike sign the shirt.
After the show (which was wicked good), I got in line to get an autograph. Mike signed the t shirt in addition to signing a poster with “To Nick, go Black and Gold!”. Toby Bean, lead guitarist, was sitting next to him, and asked me what player it was. When I told him who it was, he told me he had a story.
Toby was with Lenny Lashley of Darkbuster one night. He got a call from Scruffy Wallace, current bagpiper of the Dropkick Murphys telling him to save room for him and two of his friends. Well, Scruffy shows up and guess who one of his friends is? None other than Luch himself.
Longwinded story, but this kid is getting some high profile support here in Boston.

In case you haven’t seen it anywhere else, Friday night’s game’s theme is an “Ode To Slapshot”. Those who come early will get a Hanson brother style glasses.
Come out and support the B’s against the SouthEast Division cellar dwellar Panthers and the greatest hockey movie of all time.

Nice job Luch, you did us proud!
The big B’s forward then added insult to injury or maybe it was the other way around when he took on Canadiens defenseman Michael Komisarek in a fight that was over a year in the making.
We’ve had our battles in the past, said Lucic. It was just a matter of time until something like that happened.
After getting in a few good, hard punches, Lucic got Komisarek to the ice first. As the linesman pulled the two apart, the Black & Gold’s boxer channeled his inner wrestler when he headed for the penalty box to serve five minutes.
