I’m a bit surprised by this. While you can argue whether it was clean or not, whether or not he was “hunting” Savvy or not… The question that pops into my head is, what if it was Crosby, Malkin, Ovi or even Kane on the receiving end of a hit like that. Would the outcome from Campbell have been different?

Campbell’s explanation was that in the rule book, there is no penalty for what Cooke did. Cooke didn’t leave his feet. Campbell declared that Cooke didn’t throw an elbow.
